True vertical tillage has become the go-to method for yield-boosting seedbed preparation. Turbo-Max is the industry leader in vertical tillage tools, especially for min-tillers who want to size and anchor residue without aggressively working the ground in the fall. It vertically cuts residue and fractures the soil to create a smooth seedbed for uniform seed emergence. Because Turbo-Max is a true vertical tillage implement, it does not create compaction layers, giving roots the freedom to reach nutrients and moisture.

The industry-leading Turbo-Max now offers even greater agronomic benefits and operator convenience! The innovative Implement Command® System from Great Plains allows producers to control, adjust, and monitor their Turbo-Max from the comfort of their tractor cab. Implement Command is available on new 18'-48' Turbo-Max models.

Turbo-Max also features hydraulic fore/aft leveling and hydraulic rear reels as a standard feature on select sizes. Hydraulic fore/aft leveling allows the operator to easily adjust and level the implement from the cab without any wrenches or tools needed. It also allows the machine to be tilted forward for road transport or to quickly change between tractors. Hydraulic rear reels allow the operator to control the reel down pressure from the cab to adjust for different field conditions. This allows the rear attachment to be lifted in less-than-ideal field conditions, saving time spent cleaning mud out of the reel.

With working widths ranging from 8.5 to 48, operations of all sizes have access to the benefits of vertical tillage. Each Turbo-Max is designed with two rows of coulter gangs, with blades spaced 7½" apart. The rear gangs offset the front gangs, splitting the blade spacing to 3¾" for superior residue sizing in one pass. This allows the Turbo-Max to provide true vertical cutting without the shearing caused by concave blades.

For even greater productivity, add a Turbo-Seeder™ attachment to select sizes of Turbo-Max to till the soil and plant cover crops – all in one pass. The Turbo-Seeder cover crop attachment is easy to install and comes with either a 24 or 45 cu. ft. hopper.

With 20" Turbo Coulters spaced 7½" apart, Turbo-Max provides true vertical cutting without the shearing caused by concave blades. Front and rear gangs are offset to achieve an effective residue cutting width of 3¾" when running at 0°, which is recommended for seedbed preparation.

These 360° self-aligning bearings are never sideloaded. A six-lip seal on each side locks in grease and prevents contamination, which reduces maintenance time and extends the life of the bearings.

Turbo-Max features two gangs — each with 7½" spacing between coulters — with the rear gang offset from the front gang. The gangs work together to size residue to an industry-leading 3¾".

The hydraulic weight transfer creates an even, constant downforce across the entire width of the implement to ensure uniform penetration and eliminate the possibility for the wings to float.

The rolling spike harrow tines work with the rear reel to create a smooth, uniform seedbed for optimum planter performance. The tines split the turbo coulters to ensure the thorough mixing of the soil and residue, while the rear reel leaves the surface planter-ready by firming soil, removing air pockets, and eliminating clods.
